Back in 1982 I started working with personal computers as a salesman at a small retail computer shop in Iowa City, Iowa.  When I started, we were selling the newly-released Apple //e like hotcakes.  Over the next few years along came the IBM PC, the Apple Lisa (how many of you remember Lisa?), the Macintosh, and then a host of PC clones.

Early on I recognized my aptitude and interests leaned toward software.  I applied myself to learning how to harness the power of the leading software packages, and to helping customers (and later clients) put these programs to good use in their homes and businesses.

I moved to Fort Myers, Florida, in 1985 and continued working with computers and software, serving the needs of a handful of clients while simultaneously running other businesses over the years.

I'm a one-man shop.  My corporation, Information & Graphics Management, Inc., was set up for tax purposes, but for all intents and purposes I am an entrepreneurial sole proprietor.  For my clients, I have often been their de facto IT department.

In October 2005 we sold our house in Fort Myers and bought a condo in the Lake Wales, Florida, area to use as our base in Florida.  Thanks to telecomputing, I continued to take care of existing clients as we took the opportunity to travel to Panama, Mexico, Spain, upstate New York, and other destinations.

We have just moved to Pensacola, Florida, and I am now looking for new projects to work on, either in the Pensacola area or via telecomputing.  With broadband internet access, distance is no longer a factor.  Webcams, remote control software, and VOIP allow me to keep in close contact.
